What is Elon Musk Internet project?
The Starlink project, owned by Mr. Musk's Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or SpaceX, is authorized to send some 12,000 satellites into orbit to beam superfast internet to every corner of the Earth. It has sought permission for another 30,000.
What is the benefit of Starlink?
The second advantage that the low Earth orbit grants Starlink internet is its ability to clean itself up. Unlike satellites in higher orbital planes, Starlink internet satellites will not stay in orbit hundreds of years after beyond their useful life.
What makes Starlink different?
Starlink satellites will be 65 times closer to Earth than geostationary satellites, and could also offer speeds of 10Gbps, which is faster than fiber optic internet.
Will Starlink be unlimited?
Although Starlink is still in its infancy, Starlink satellite internet is undergoing a public (invitation-only) beta in limited parts of the US, Canada, and the UK. Starlink is currently the only unlimited satellite provider in the US—offering truly unlimited, full-speed data.
